For Job Seekers there is no fee to participate in the Job Fair as an applicant, however, you must be an AIPLA member in good standing and have paid your 2009-2010 member dues.
Job Applications must be submitted and resumes must be posted online at the AIPLA Career Center NO LATER THAN MONDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2009 to participate in this years’ Career Fair.
Employers registered for the Career Fair who have open positions will post their positions online and such job postings will be designated with a Career Fair icon: . To be considered for a specific position, we highly recommend applying online for that particular position.
PLEASE NOTE THAT REGISTERING FOR THE CAREER FAIR DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE APPLICANT AN INTERVIEW.
Employers with open positions who plan to conduct interviews onsite will screen the posted resumes and submitted applications and then contact the applicants directly to schedule an onsite interview to be conducted during the Career Fair.
If you have been selected for an interview, you will hear directly from the employer NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2009. If you do not hear from an Employer by October 6, then you have not been selected for an interview. You may elect to still come to the Career Fair to drop off your resume and learn about those Firms and Companies who have elected to participate.
For those individuals with confirmed interviews, the Career Fair interview process will be held in person on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Interviews will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue throughout Saturday afternoon at half-hour intervals until 4:00 p.m., at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. We encourage AIPLA members selected for interviews to register and attend the Annual Meeting, but attendance at the meeting is not required to participate in the Job Fair. You must check in at the CAREER FAIR OFFICE 30 minutes prior to your first interview time to get the locations of your interviews on Saturday, October 17, 2009. The CAREER FAIR OFFICE will be located in the Washington Room 2, Exhibition Level at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.
Each interviewer is committed to ten interviews. Even if you have only two or three interviews, it is very important to appear for your scheduled interviews. If you register, are selected for an interview, receive your schedule, and do not show up, you may not be allowed to participate in any future AIPLA Career Fairs. If you must cancel your participation, please do so before October 2, 2009.
Hotel Reservations: Contact the number below and identify yourself as an AIPLA Conference attendee to obtain the special rate. Rooms sell out early so make your reservations now. The cut-off date to secure the special rate is September 24, 2009.

AIPLA has more than 16,000 members, including nearly 1,400 student members, nearly 2,200 junior members and we now have nearly 700 patent agent members. Many of our student members are interested in summer internships, while graduating students, junior, and other members are searching for full-time employment. The Job Fair offers an excellent opportunity to bring together those who have positions available and those who are seeking employment, to conduct interviews and recruit employees.
